Yesterday marked the last day of my two-week vacation. My first vacation in about seven years, actually... No, of course I'm not a work-a-holic. I'm just a loser with no life. But love, ahhh I have love. I miss him already. He's still airborne at the moment...he's been on the plane for twelve hours already. =( I hate that he's making his first two plane rides EVER all by himself, the first being his trip out here and the second being his trip back. Especially a flight that long. It's a looooong plane ride non-stop to/from LAX from/to Melbourne.

JOHN!! and me...
2 March -- But! He came! =) Suffice it to say I am THE BIGGEST loser on the face of the planet. Who meets someone for the first time and hides in their hoodie?? Oh wait! ME. =( Yeah. He walked up and I went OMG!hide. Great, right? The man flies across an ocean to meet me and I HIDE. *hangs head in shame* Walked back to the car in a little more than silence; he asked if I wanted to hold his hand. =P I was probably acting like a five year old. The car trip home was okay... Big thanks to
herophelia for making the trip with me and for attempting to make me seem human in front of John. *sigh* I will ever be grateful to you. And back at the house. Of course, there is jetlag with that much of a time change and John was tired. He napped, I read his Encyclopedia of Chocolate until he asked me to cuddle. Ooooooh so cute. And he felt soooo good to cuddle with. It's been far too long since I'd cuddled anyone like that. And we slept. =) Which is a good thing since I hadn't slept since Saturday night and he hadn't been able to sleep on the plane. So we slept cuddled together for a couple hours and then woke up and watched a movie...or two... I honestly can't remember. =( But...having a man that close again woke me up...and then it WOKE me up. Now that's a lovely feeling.
3 March -- Tuesday morning was quiet. He woke up, showered. I woke up, showered. He made me breakfast! =) So cute. It's a good thing he likes to cook because I can't cook for crap. We watched a couple movies, fell asleep cuddling on the couch together. Then we went for a walk, I showed him my old elementary school and then we walked down to my parent's house. Heh. First meeting with the family! Mom made dinner, and everything went smoothly. Nice and relaxed, a very nice first meeting I think. =) We sat around and talked, rather, I sat around, they all talked. We walked home afterwards, early to bed since John was still getting over some jetlag.
4 March -- Yummy breakfast. My sister lent us her car, so I took John down to Seal Beach. He wanted to see the beaches while he was here. We went down, walked the pier, walked around the shops and all that. Then to the grocery store, picked up a few things and ordered out for dinner. Very quiet, very slow relaxing day. It was nice. =)
5 March -- Breakfast again. Down to Huntington Beach this time. Went to the Rip Curl store, John needed to look for a watch for his brother. Apparently it was supposed to be cheaper here but with the exchange rate and all it seems it's more expensive here. Spent the day there, walked around and down the pier there. Went to the mall and walked the shops there. Specifically, jewlery stores. He wanted to buy me a promise ring. After that was the birthday dinner! I don't think I've had a more enjoyable birthday dinner so it was all good. =) He wanted to see where I worked, so we had dinner at Marie Callender's.
6 March -- The boy has GOT to stop feeding me three meals a day. I probably gained so much weight while he was here. Went to the store again, gots to buy stuffs for the "real" birthday party! Lots of people lots of booze lots of snack foods. John made me his "Better Than Sex" Chocolate cake. OMG so GOOD. John got to meet a bunch of my friends. Who woulda thunk it?? I have friends! =) Many of whom want to go with me when I go to visit him in Australia... I let him drink too much though, little more than half a bottle of bourbon? Yeah, he doesn't drink a whole lot anymore, so letting him drink that much was a mistake, and on an empty stomach. I is bad girlfriend. =( But yes! Girlfriend! The ring he bought yesterday was resized and we picked up before the party.

I likes it. He let me pick it out. Wouldn't give me an opinion on ANY of the ones that I was looking at. Dunno if that's good or bad but he wouldn't give me a spending limit either, which I don't like... hrmph. He would have let me buy anything I think. But this one caught my eye. It's called the "Journey Ring", specifically because of the curved design on the diamonds. Oh the Journey curve...it's pretty. =)
But yes. Party was fantastic. I got way more than tipsy. John got...drunk... It was a fun night.
7 March -- Happy Birthday to me! The real day, and now 26, ewwwwwwww. Morning after. I, as always, was completely fine. Poor John, however, ended up puking into the container on the side of the bed that I had originally put there for myself. I was so certain it was going to be me. Instead it was John...and it became only the second time he'd ever thrown up from drinking. I felt so bad! =( Pretty quiet day after that. We went to the store and picked up some baking ingredients. John made a cake for
herophelia's birthday! =) We took it down, had some really good lasagna baked by the woman herself, and played a lot of Tekken 4. It was a nice semi-quiet fun evening.
8 March -- Church! Eewwwwwww. John wanted to go to church with my parents. So we went. Wow I really still don't like church. It wasn't that bad, but it's still not my thing. Kinda like school. But that's a different topic. After we went to breakfast with my parents and then headed out to meet my grandparents. My uncle and his wife stopped by as well and we all went to lunch together. And then I got lost on the way home. =P I'm such a loser.
9 March -- Venice Beach and Santa Monica! My sister and her boyfriend John, me and my boyfriend John. Totally lol at that. Beach cruisers and not a bad day weather-wise. =) Another beach for John to see. We walked the Santa Monica pier and heard a guy play some really pretty music. Romantic and such and John bought me a CD because I liked it so much. =) Terry Prince. Very pretty music. Look him up at princeterry.com A great day all together, except I got lost getting home. Again. I do that a lot it seems. Mom made dinner again and we all spent a nice evening together.
10 March -- Quiet day at home again. Movies, cuddling, napping, breakfast, lunch and dinner.
11 March -- Disneyland! Walked the shops, ate some food. Saw the really cute Jedi Apprentice Show thing at Tomorrowland Terrace. It's so adorable. They take kids and give them lightsabers and cloaks, and they get to go up against Darth Vader! Poor DV though, fighting 30 kids who all come at him with the exact same moves every single time. He must get so bored with it. John bought me a cute pair of earrings and I bought way too much candy, as I always do. But half of it was for my family!!
12 March -- Laguna Beach in the morning! =) Went to the tide pools. Unfortunately, this time of year it's a bit colder and there's not much to see. But it's a lot of rock, and John enjoyed his little rock climbing adventure. Lots of fun. I scratched my ring. =( Then off for a few days in San Diego! Got down to the hotel and omg was it beautiful. If you're ever vacationing in San Diego, I would highly recommend the Best Western (Hacienda Hotel) in Old Town San Diego. It's a gorgeous view, a little close to the airport but completely liveable. And there are all the shops and little mexican places to eat at all within walking distance and so nice to walk and see.
13 March -- Friday the 13th!! =) Such a wonderful morning. Went to Sea World! Didn't get lost!! =) Sea World was a lot of fun. Walked around, saw a few shows. We went on a Behind the Scenes tour that was amazingly fun. Got to see the Shark Lab, where they keep the shark eggs incubated and raise the sharks until they're big enough to put out in the exhibits. I got to touch a shark! John keeps saying he's going to take me shark fishing when I come out to visit him. Could be fun? I promised him I would. =) He doesn't believe me. =P And then we saw the Rescue backlot. OMG. BABY DOLPHINS. Most gorgeous thing ever. Baby dolphin dancing with mama dolphin jumping and leaping in and out of the water. So pretty! And it splashed me. lol. Too funny. And otters and seals and poor animals that were being rehabilitated and everything. I may think about going back to school for Marine Biology or Environmental Studies/Preservation. But, ick, school... Then the Shamu show and WET so fun. Then out to dinner at The Top of the Fish Market. PRICEY. But OMG good scallops YUM.
14 March -- Checked out from the hotel and then ZOO!! Yay aminals!! Started off with the koalas lol. John was not impressed. =P Then we walked around, saw lions and tigers and bears oh my! He enjoyed the bigger animals and the predators. Large cats, polar bears, and such. And it seems the San Diego Zoo doesn't have wolves...unless we missed them. But wow, was sad. Wanted to see them. And so did John. But lunch and then home for a party that I think my dad was looking at as a mini-engagement party or something. He invited all the family friends and the family to meet John. It was crazy. But it was good fun. Afterward I fell asleep =( but my sisters and my cousin and her boyfriend all wanted to go out so we went with them to the Aloha Grill where they make a FABULOUS rum drink called a Rainbow. Had a couple of those. Probably shouldn't have since I was so tired but I did. =P
15 March -- Quiet day in. Needed the downtime to just relax and spend the day together. I'll admit, it was a hard couple days. Cried A LOT. It's just that...we've been talking for so long, almost two years, and we finally get to meet face to face. And it's only for two weeks...and then...I lose him again. It...hurts.
16 March -- Slept in. Last morning together, I think we deserve it? Breakfast for the last time. Lunch for the last time. He baked a Chocolate Roulade with chocolate and raspberry fillings omg so good. We took it to my parents where they talked a lot and then they said their goodbyes. Then it was off to the airport. He checked in...checked his bags...we had our last dinner together... And he cried! =( I hate that I, for whatever reason, can turn the tears off when I'm in public, but when I'm alone in the house with him I can't stop them from falling. My own personal curse I guess. And then...he had to board. It was a stereotypical goodbye, the kiss, the hug, the tears, the walking away, turning for that last look, then nearly running out of the airport. It took me four hours to try and get to sleep. There's a small shallow in my bed on the left side where he slept. I couldn't stop crying.
17 March -- He's on the plane. And I have to go back to work. Depression has officially set in. We'll definitely talk, but I won't see him again until maybe August at the earliest. I miss him so much. =(
