Wow! Oh the memories... I'm slightly depressed now. I was just checking a sort of old e-mail address and I discovered a load of messages from LiveJournal saying that a bunch of old RP accounts I'd created have been deleted. No biggie. But then it got me exploring and ahhhh... I miss the old RP days. My first RP ever, [livejournal.com profile] oblitesco, oh how interesting you were! I made my first HP LJ friends through Oblitesco so many years ago, something like 7 years ago! I can't believe that I've actually known some of you that long. It doesn't seem like that much time has passed. Anyone remember the account name [livejournal.com profile] hedwigs_harbour?? =) Oh Harry...my first RP ever and somehow they let me play Harry. Thus began my exploration into RP and the beginnings of my meager fanfic writings. After that, ahh Race. I was rather foolish to delete that comm. My darling RP baby, little RttF. Some of the best memories came out of that one. After that... [livejournal.com profile] faces_of_evil. It was short-lived, but still had some interesting RPs come out of it.

I took an hour or so and accessed each and every journal I used to RP in and oh my I've come so far as a writer. Well, maybe not that far but there's a BIG difference in my beginning RPs compared to anything I could do now.

RP how I've missed you.

So...maybe not a thousand, but here in Oz it's 8:46pm on the 30th of November, ever so close to the 1st of December. My creative writing prompt has gone out to my Facebook page and I'm hoping that enough people will help out and give me writing prompts. I've started the first one off with "silver and gold" and asked the masses to give me one, two, or three word prompts to write projects on each of the days in December. John's ditching me tomorrow to go fishing with a buddy, but they have to use a 4 wheel drive to get there and Jason's only has room for two, so no me. So...I have an entire afternoon to kill and I want to get my first December writing project done with flying colours. Hopefully this will mean my December posting will increase. I've been a lousy LJ poster lately.

[livejournal.com profile] hogwarts_elite has proven to help with the creative juices. The last Hogsmeade weekend was ridiculously fun, forcing me to attempt more graphics stuff and writing things. I haven't improved at all, but it's allowed me to experiment with things. The following is one of my entries for one of the contests:

It's not very good but it could be a lot worse. I'm proud of it, for whatever reason. Despite the dark character of Bellatrix Lestrange, the colours are very Christmas-y, an unexpected but not unwanted effect. Me likie.

Been thinking lately of changing my default icon. I've been so in love with the bouncing ferret for so long though, I just can't imagine my journal icon being anything but. But times change...I move on. I think I need something that evokes the change from Harry Potter to...life. O_O

I applied for [livejournal.com profile] hogwarts_elite and my application has finally left the queue and been posted so I saw no issue with posting it on my own journal. I'm having a really difficult time sorting myself, maybe because I have a very specific idea of what houses I would be/should be/have been in. So far I've gotten a large handful of Hufflepuff votes (where one has commented that I might have a few "scales") and one vote for Slytherin. I'm so confuzzled!! O_o

Hogwarts Elite. Yeah...I caved... I miss an HP posse... )

Or just go read it here

Wheee HP!!

So...I may or may not be writing up an application to [livejournal.com profile] hogwarts_elite at almost 1am...

Anyone care to join me?? =P

*sigh* Is it bad that it depresses me when every time I open my Pottermore page it glows green? It's seriously making my whole Pottermore experience just...blah. It may or may not be getting to the point that once October hits I'm considering deleting my account and making a new one until I get into a different house...wait...it is October... Well, once open registration begins anyway.

Seeing as how LJ isn't letting me post pics I'll just do a fully texted play by play of which wand chose me and how I was sorted...

First wand question asked height of which I am shorter than average, second was eye colour and mine is dark brown/borderline black and third was whether my birth day was odd or even...March 7 says odd. Does anyone else find it odd that that question says day and not date when clearly it refers to numbers and not days? *sigh* I'm lashing out because of my house sorting...forgive me. Fourth, fifth and sixth questions were regarding pride, a crossroads, and fear... I chose pride in resilience (as opposed to determination, imagination, intelligence, originality, optimism, and kindness), took the road to the ocean (rather than the forest or the castle), and feared heights (other choices including fire, darkness, small spaces, and isolation). Question 7 was to choose an artefact of which I chose the silver dagger, leaving behind the mirror, jewel, scroll, bottle, glove and key.

These answers resulted in a supple, 12 3/4" wand made of Larch, with a dragon heart string core. I'd never even heard of Larch before now... O_O And I thought shorter people = short wands? Guess not... I do like the Larch description though. I'm not too put off by my wand at all, actually.

Dragon

As a rule, dragon heartstrings produce wands with the most power, and which are capable of the most flamboyant spells. Dragon wands tend to learn more quickly than other types. While they can change allegiance if won from their original master, they always bond strongly with the current owner.

The dragon wand tends to be easiest to turn to the Dark Arts, though it will not incline that way of its own accord. It is also the most prone of the three cores to accidents, being somewhat temperamental.

Larch

Strong, durable and warm in colour, larch has long been valued as an attractive and powerful wand wood. Its reputation for instilling courage and confidence in the user has ensured that demand has always outstripped supply. This much sought-after wand is, however, hard to please in the matter of ideal owners, and trickier to handle than many imagine. I find that it always creates wands of hidden talents and unexpected effects, which likewise describes the master who deserves it. It is often the case that the witch or wizard who belongs to the larch wand may never realise the full extent of their considerable talents until paired with it, but that they will then make an exceptional match.

sup·ple (spl)
adj. sup·pler, sup·plest
1. Readily bent; pliant.
2. Moving and bending with agility; limber.
3. Yielding or changing readily; compliant or adaptable. See Synonyms at flexible.
tr. & intr.v. sup·pled, sup·pling, sup·ples
To make or become supple.

And for the House Sorting... this is where things... *sigh*

Q1) When I die, I want people to: Miss me and Smile.
Q2) The Flutterby bush would lure me with a scent of: The Sea.
Q3) The most difficult thing to deal with is: Hunger. ((Yeah...it made the most sense to me...))
Q4) Any power and I choose: Invisibility. ((Anyone who knows me would be able to answer that one...))
Q5) The road that tempts me: Wide, sunny, grassy lane.
Q6) Dawn or Dusk? Dusk
Q7) Left or Right? Left...

And I'm sorted where???

Slytherin

I'll skip the House welcome letter because most of you have seen it before anyway...

I can't say I'm not disappointed. If I had a choice Slytherin would be my last... I see no negative aspect of being a part of Slytherin I just never saw myself as having Slytherin dominant qualities. It surprised the hell out of me to be quite honest.

So far, in the three and a half hours it took me to get thus far, I've achieved one point for my house, destroyed one potion attempt, and found some odds and ends that I have yet to discover their purpose. I continuously get the "Unavailable" page and it's frustrating but... bleeeeeeeeh. We'll see how things develop. I'm concerned over what will happen when Pottermore opens to the public in the near future. I may never be able to access the pages again. =(

Finally got my e-mail for Pottermore! And what happens when I try to Explore??? "We are sorry Pottermore is currently unavailable. Please come back later and try again." =( Ultimate sadness.

As it goes, I had two friend requests from AurorSpell72 from the US and another name that I can't remember from the Phillipines. I'm on ShadowMist176 once the site comes back up if anyone wants to friend me or just drop your name and I'll friend you...

Your result for The Sorting Hat: A Comprehensive Harry Potter Personality Assessment [Test/Quiz]...

Ravenclaw

57% Ravenclaw, 54% Hufflepuff, 53% Slytherin and 41% Gryffindor!

Or yet in wise old Ravenclaw,

if you've a ready mind,

Where those of wit and learning,

Will always find their kind;

The cardinal traits of Ravenclaw are intellect, wit and openness to experience. They are the most introverted house of the four. Ravenclaws are more likely to prefer small gatherings of like-minded individuals and require recooperation after stressful social interaction. These individuals are intuitive creatures, the quintessential researchers. They lack the stubborn, strict, and rule-abiding qualities that would inhibit intellectual growth—one can't be too set in their ways if they are to be open to exploring new ideas and paths of thought. In contrast to Slytherin and Gryffindor, Ravenclaws in general are much more emotionally stable. Their reactions seem dampened compared to the sometimes dramatic responses of the other houses—they're much less likely to get offended, they're more open to criticism, not particularly argumentative and interested in hearing different points of view. They can at times seem to be less interested in people and more interested in their own inner world, and appear to be disconnected from the rest of humanity.

Ambition is secondary to them. Although they may strive to excel in school, knowledge and self-enrichment is the primary goal as opposed to simply wanting good marks. If they do happen to strive for excellence, it is because it fits with their other goals, not out of a desire to be superior or the best. Due to their intuitiveness and willingness to listen, Ravenclaws can be empathetic and make good advisors. They should generally leave leadership roles to people who are more extraverted and who would enjoy them more, however.

Was actually sort of surprised that I got that much less Gryffindor than Slytherin to be honest... Gryffindor was always the house I saw myself in the most, and then I got sorted into Ravenclaw back in Lumos... I always assumed my highest qualities were a solid mix of Gryffindor and Hufflepuff when I first got into Harry Potter. That was about...six or seven years ago? Can't really remember to be honest... People change, of course. =) It's still interesting to see the change on something like that little quiz...
