Author's Note: This is just some random little thing that I threw together right before bed. Don't mind me. I just figured since it's there I might as well post it somewhere. =)
He had been right about the spell from the start. Some said that it was a dark spell, one that only dark wizards would ever use, others simply said it was just another concealment spell, no harm could ever come from it. Eddie didn't care. If it concealed him, he learned how to cast it. This one was different though, it wasn't like all the others. All the others simply made him disappear, or made something else disappear.
What Edward Carmichael liked best about this spell, was that when he casted it, he not only disappeared, he melted into the very shadow that he'd always wanted to become. Every time he casted it, he would simply melt away and slip into the nearest shadow, moving to and fro, from one patch of darkness to another. Perhaps it was the moving in darkness bit that people were so afraid of. People are often afraid of what they can't see. It is what makes many people fear the night. But Eddie isn't afraid of it. The darkness calls to him; the night beckons to him. He is seduced by it, and perhaps, that is what makes him wish to imitate it so.
With one final cast, his form disappears, replaced by an inky darkness that slides unnoticed and unheard across the room, a whisper of shadow in the starless skies of night.
