Prompt: holiday harmony
Word Count: 61
Every Christmas without fail
Letters sending through the mail
Kids with hopes and dreams galore
Smiling faces, we adore
Making wishes, singing songs
Hopes of Santa rights all wrongs
Bring together family and friends
Coming together to make amends
Sing we joyous all together
Sun or rain or snowy weather
After all the gifts are won
Another year is almost done
Title: Making the List
Prompt: belated thankfulness
Word Count: 129
She couldn't think of any better gift for the holidays. It hadn't happened in the eleven years past, why would it happen now? She didn't care. All Gail wanted at that moment in time was to see her husband back from overseas. For once, she was going to stop feeling sorry for all the other women who had husbands overseas. Her's was going to be back safe in her arms and she was going to enjoy the time they had together while they had it. Finally, there he was! She would finally have her man home for Christmas. Thanksgiving may have passed but right then Gail found herself thinking about all the things she was thankful for and actual holiday leave was right at the top of that list.
