Let it go, let it roll right off your shoulders...
I woke up this morning with the best "morning after" feeling ever. The good kind...not the bad kind. *wink* But then I realised...I was still alone. *sigh* Was it a dream? A fantasy? Does it matter if there was no 'real excitement' to the evening at all?

In other matters. RUM!
Rum 'til You Float! - previously known as Yay Rum!
Take any four of the five known Malibu rums. In a mixing glass, aka tumbler, aka beer pint, aka whatever else you wanna call it, fill with ice. Add 1 oz. of each of the four rums. Fill with pineapple juice. Top with a splash of Sprite (or any other lemon-lime type soda if you're open to them). Enjoy!
So far, I've decided that I prefer Malibu Coconut, Passion Fruit, Pineapple, and Mango as my four. Banana is okay...but...I like my other four. Wheee. As far as I know, I created this drink, though it's quite possible that it was out there somewhere and I just had never heard of it. But myself,
kalerial,
rosesfade, and
herophelia are all credited with the name...which was discovered during an extremely entertaining viewing of Muppet Treasure Island. =D

Okay, so about three weeks ago my beloved feline decided that he wanted to leave home and take a trip. Cool for him, bad for me. I pretty much freaked. There was my little angel who I've been taking, in my own opinion, very good care of for the past two years, and he just up and leaves.
BUT YAY HE'S BACK!! I came home from work this evening and heard this awful yowling at the back door and there was my precious little baby!

Pick a door, any door...
Okay, so I'm at a sort of impasse as to what I should begin to read next...I've been neglecting my 50 Books List, and I've had a time deciding which direction to go in next. While I've been trying to decide--for the past week--I've been rereading the Kushiel's Legacy series and falling in love with Phedre and Joscelin again. But I can't choose where to go next. Any suggestions?

More BPAL!
So...my very large order from BPAL arrived, and in much shorter time than the last time, which was odd because this order was so much larger than my last one. And now... *drumroll*
The Really Good
Kitsune-Tsuki - Asian plum, orchid, daffodil, jasmine and white musk. Sweet, it's a little on the sweet side but probably my favouritest of them all.
Akuma - Devilish temptation, as sweet as sin: blood orange, neroli, and raspberry. My second favouritest of the bunch; it's yummy. =)
The Good
Blood Countess - Corrupted black plum, smoky opium and crumbling dead roses covered by a deceptive veil of Hungarian lilac, white gardenia and wild berry. I almost didn't order it at first, but I find that it was a good investment.
Blood Pearl - Lustrous, sanguine, soft and lavish: soft orris, blood musk, and coconut. One of the frimps they sent me, likey this one muchly...and I'm thinking it might be the coconut...
Lucy's Kiss - Created to represent the essence of Bram Stoker's tragic heroine, Lucy Westenra. Seductive, wanton and deadly, but underscored with a soft, wistful innocense. The gentle scent of rose and a blend of Victorian spices. Another of the frimps they sent me, I find that this one is an interesting scent that I grow more attached to as I smell it more...
Les Bijoux - Skin musk and honey, blood-red rose, orange blossom, white peach, red apple, frankincense and myrrh. Number three of the frimps I received, I never really like the smell of myrrh, but I find this scent rather enjoyable.
Nuit - Her perfume is starry and crystalline, a jewel-clad and glittering paean to night: dazzling white musks, white rose and night-blooming jasmine with the soft moss of moonlit meadows, a waft of Egyptian incense, and a gentle breath of moonflower. This one is really lovely, a nice scent for a calm night out.
Osun - Osun’s symbols are hand mirrors, brass fans, brass needles, brass bells, sunflowers, and her creatures are the cricket and the peacock. Her ofrenda is thick with honey and herbs of love, passion and desire. This is a very sweet scent, almost too sweet but it's just this side of bearably sweet.
Pele - This perfume embodies her gentler, benign aspect as the capricious Goddess of Dance: muguet and Hawaiian white ginger enveloped by warm, damp tropical blooms. It's somewhat reminiscent of Hi'iaka, which makes sense because they're sisters. Definitely a pretty scent.
Yemaya - Her ofrenda is a bounty of melons and grapes, strewn with the petals of the flowers of motherhood, draped with sea mosses. Down some on my totem pole of likes, it's a few notches below Tempest, which I bought a larger order of. It's pretty though.
Tushnamatay - Pure internal harmony and spiritual bliss: the perfected meditation blend. I almost wish this one were a candle oil or incense because it would be a great scent to just sit around in and think...
Undertow - The Dark Side of Water: clean and purifying, yet menacing -- lotus and juniper with a hint of mint. A scent dragged up from the depths to the Stygian shore. It's a great scent, just a little heavier on the mint than I would have liked, but still good.
Kurukulla - Her scent is a harmonious, sweet, enchanting blend of three lotus blooms and three roses. It's sweet and, as the description says, enchanting... It makes me think of a field that's just full of the aroma...
Eos - Her scent is that of softly glowing skin, jasmine, buttercup and honeysuckle. It's puuuurdy! =)
Swank - Simply cool, the essence of Lounge: the scent of a crisp pomegranate martini. Pomegranate martini! The drink itself is awesome, and this scent is great.
Maenad - Orgiastic mayhem in the extreme: sweet strawberry and orange blossom distorted by carnation, black poppy and hibiscus. Sweet and lovely and yummy.
The Almost Good
Villain - A classic Victorian men's cologne: a lavender fougere, with hints of lilac, lime, and citrus musk. Another of the frimps they sent me, I'm on the fence about it, leaning more toward keeper but still thinking about it.
Wolf's Heart - Grants courage under extreme conditions, helps overcome fear of death, and strengthens the fortitude of artists and businessmen, enabling them to further their goals. Yes, another of the frimps, there's just something about this one that hits me the wrong way...but there's also something about it that makes me think it will sit well on me...
Lyonesse - Golden vanilla and gilded musk, stargazer lily, white sandalwood, grey amber, elemi, orris root, ambergris and sea moss. Frimps frimps frimps...for much the same reason as Wolf's Heart, there's just something about this one that's not quite there, but then again, it is.
Kumiho - Nine-tailed fox demon of Korean lore who transforms into the visage of an irresistible beauty in order to seduce men and lead them to their doom. A sharp, biting blend of crisp white tea and ginger. Really bummed that this one wasn't on my "Really Good" list. I think it's just a bit too sharp for me, but I still like the scent...
Santa Muerte - A deep, resonant scent, both comforting and soft: lovers’ roses, solemn chrysanthemum, dark vetiver and dazzling cactus flowers. Dear old Saint Death...I don't know what it is, but there's something about this scent that I can't like, yet in the same regard, I like it... It's just sweet enough that I enjoy it.
The Kinda Bad
Jolly Roger - Sea spray with an undercurrent of leather, Bay Rum, and salty, dry woods. Frimpy frimp frimp frimp...the leather, the wood, there's just something here that does not hit me well, but there's still something sort of intriguing about it. I might keep it, but if anyone out there wants to try it I will have hardly any problem letting it go.
Strangler Fig - A glorious parasite! Once the seeds of the Strangler Fig find root in the bark of a tree, snakelike roots erupt and reach graspingly at the sky. The Strangler Fig then sprouts numerous epiphytic vines that strangles and surrounds its unwilling host, and finally snuffs the life from it. Rooty, woody, with deep green tones. Yeah...I just kinda don't like it, but there's one scent in it that makes it almost bearable. Almost. I could part with it if someone else wants it.
Hollywood Babylon - The essence of innocence shattered: glittering Egyptian amber and heliotrope, infused with the sweetness of strawberry and vanilla - dragged into debauch by lusty red musk and a dribble of black cherry. It was a good suggestion, but it's just not right for me... At least for now...
Nyx - A scent reflecting inky black skies and eternal desolation. Night-blooming jasmine, warmed by myrrh, lifted by the promise of rose. There's just enough myrrh in this one that it's not quite my deal, but at some point in the future I may change my mind. If anyone wants it, I wouldn't mind letting it go, though.
The Bad - just not my cup of tea
Intrigue - A sultry, exotic scent that inspires devious plotting and clandestine affairs. It is a scent painted in artifice, veiled in deceit, and slithering with whispered secrets. Black palm, with cocoa, fig and shadowy wooded note. I think it's the scents that are heavy wooded scents that I don't really like... Willing to let this one go...
Haha. So...after three hours of smelling perfume I've come to the conclusion that I shouldn't sniff 26 different scents in half an hour. It makes me dizzy and the smells start reacting differently to each other and blending funny. I started off with six Bads, five Almost Bads, four Almost Goods, nine Goods, and two Favourites. After waiting an hour and then smelling at spaced intervals, that changed to one Bad, four Almost Bads, five Almost Goods, fourteen Goods, and two Favourites. That'll show me.
The Bad is one that I myself ordered. Of the eight frimps, there were two that ended up in my Almost Bad category and three that ended up in my Almost Good category. The other three frimps ended up in my Good category. I think this BPAL order will keep me busy through spring, summer, and then some. I've just begun to put a dent in my Tempest imp, and I've got a whole 5mL bottle waiting after that, not to mention Lightning, Black Pearl, Hi'iaka, Tamora, Szepasszony, and Persephone... Yeah. I'm good... And Meg I'm going to mail out Rome to you I promise! I just haven't gotten the chance to get to the post office to buy postage for it an all. I'm sorry! =(

"I've been thinking." "...Thinking? O_o"
The Darkness of Tragedy has finally been updated. Not much...but I've been getting the itch to write again, so it's been updated, my rediculous attempt at NaNo '07 has been added to, and I've started on yet another project that will probably never be finished, or titled, as my works are so prone to be. Joy.
Maturity?
Why does the world expect us to grow up? If we suceed at what we do and enjoy doing it, what does it matter if we're not all serious and somber about it? If I want to burst out into song--even if it's not some feel good song no one's ever heard before--why do people have to stare like I'm a moron? Why is it okay in a movie but not okay in real life? Why can't fantasy be reality and why can't true romance really exist?
Gawd. I hate being a romantic. Hardcore hopeless-fairytale-stargazing-fantastical romantic. That is me. Nobody knows it except for anyone who is reading this right now. And my aussie boy. But yeah. That is me. I wish everyday for a man who will sweep me off my feet. Someone who will smile and maybe join in when I start humming or when I burst into song. Someone who will try to spin me around the dance floor and laugh along with me as I fall all over both my left feet. Someone to cuddle and someone to snuggle and someone to hold on a cold winter's night. Or someone to hold me. Either or. Doesn't matter so long as there's body warmth and a kiss or two to go along with it. Someone who can understand what I want and not be afraid of it. I want a person who...I want a person who doesn't exist...*sigh* I hate being a romantic.

Disney!
Went to Disneyland today. So much happiness. I don't know what it is, but Disneyland just makes me feel good. I'm a prime example of Disney being the happiest place on earth because when I'm there, I'm truly and absolutely happy. My only real regret about life so far is that I've not ever been given the chance to work there. Disney was my only truly desired job and I was, sadly, a reject.
But! Jess ordered Enchanted and it came in today! Am watching it currently and it just makes me SO HAPPY. The singing and the happy and the dancing and the LOVE...
Anyway. My list of expenses this month is WAY TOO rediculous. Got a larger than normal paycheck and birthday money so went a tad bit overboard.
$111.98 - karaoke discs for the karaoke machine my employees bought me for my birthday!
$49.95 - Barnes & Noble: a mini tarot deck (something urged me to buy it, not sure why), a knitting kit, and the Yale Shakespeare book of his complete works...
$15.95 - a bauble that looked too cute
$57.08 - DVDs from Columbia House of which I am a member so yay DVDs for discount
$32.94 - Isis Books for "The Gilded Tarot" set...after buying the mini deck I had the impulse to go searching for a deck with a design and artwork that appealed more to me...
$53.70 - Disney Movie Club of which I am also a member yay for Disney DVDs on discount!
$97.78 - Disneyland! already have the season pass, but food and other memories from Disneyland are always a plus for me...
In addition I've spent about $400 give or take $10 on bills, and $350 on the first half of rent for April. So altogether I've spent almost $1200 since the start of the month and it's only 2/3 over. Not good. Not entirely bad, but not good. O_o
[EDIT: Add to that the $80 that I spent at BPAL but that won't be deducted for another two and a half weeks because that seems to be how they work with me...sadness]
August my phone is good for an upgrade. I'm considering the iPhone, but battery life sucks on that...like, really sucks... Also looking at two different versions of the Blackberry, but one of them doesn't have a camera on it. I'm also looking at the Moto Q Global which looks like the PERFECT phone, in addition to having an extra battery for extended battery life. The only thing it doesn't have is a touch screen, but I really don't care about that. O_O
But that's it for now, and it's taken me from the beginning of the movie to the ball room scene where she bites the apple to finish this entry. I'm a sad sorry person.

Haha. Yeah. I've read one book since the beginning of January.
Next! I have, after reading about them for so long, ordered a six-pack of imp's ears from BPAL. I'm not sure what to expect, as I'm really looking at them only as scents and not what they're made for. But they sound like they'll smell lovely and I can't wait. If anyone has any commentary for me, I've ordered Szepasszony, Hi'iaka, Persephone, Black Pearl, Lightning and Tempest. I've read through all the other scents and I think I'm going to order three more sample packs, providing I haven't missed something and the scents I choose can't come in smaller sizes.
( BPAL Lists )
Not much else going on in my life right now. Work's getting busy and I've finally been promoted to full management. Sales are going on right now so they don't want to pull me out of the store during February, but once March hits I'm in salary land. Yearly is 36k, so it's not too bad to start out with, and if we do well we get to jump around in bonus land. Yay for that. I've managed to not lose my W-2s yet, so I should probably get around to filing my taxes...
There are a lot of movies out right now that I want to see! Too many to list, I think...
I want to teach myself how to paint. I've sketched things as most of my art, but I want to add colour in ways other than coloured pencils. I just can't seem to be able to create with paint. =( Sadness.
My roomie bought the Sweeney Todd Soundtrack. It's shiny. After listening to it, I've decided that while HBC is fabulous, I don't like her voice in this part so much. JD is great, but again, don't like his voice in the part. It's too Captain Sparrow-y for me to find ST in it.
What else? I've half a mind to sell everything that I own so I can buy a plane ticket to Australia? I just want to get away... it's really not a good thing. If I were that kind of Gryffindor I'd have gone by now. But I'm not. So I'm saving money like a good girl to vacation there eventually. But first, I have to buy a new car. *sigh*
Oh yeah. I've stepped down as a prefect at Lumos. I'm also going on an indefinite hiatus. I'm getting busier at work and I never seem to be on when any of my house mates are on. I never talk to anyone outside of commenting here or there. I hate rating and it takes me constantly reminding myself to sort last minute. I've also fallen away from the fandom, which I'm not sure is a good thing or not.
Life is changing around me. It's not a bad thing, and I don't mind, but I want to find my niche, and I'm beginning to feel it's not in California. Sadly, I don't have the luxury of just up and doing whatever I want. No money = no travel. And as much as I would love to just get out there and travel, I can't. Not yet anyway. But I will. Someday I will.
So, first off...
50 Books
1) Kitty and The Midnight Hour by Carrie Vaughn
2) Kitty Goes to Washington by Carrie Vaughn
3) Kitty Takes a Holiday by Carrie Vaughn
4) A Kiss of Shadows by Laurell K. Hamilton
Haha.
